"I'm gonna make a bread like nobody has ever tasted before and, in this bread, i will put a lot of love and friendship.." A Marcel Pagnol's thought that Christophe Vasseur, the owner of "Du pain et des Idées" wants to remember everyday at work. The thing that we love, is that Mr Vasseur was a sales executive in fashion industry and becoming a baker was not what one could call a predictible personal evolution. The man fall in love with one of the last authentic bakery, dating from 1889, in the heart of Paris. In the bakery, all furnitures are traditionals, the idea being to travel 100 years backward when pushing the door. In march 2008, he is elected best baker in Paris by the famous gourmet magazine GAULT & MILLAU. You must try their "escargot chocolat-pistache" a chocolate and pistachio rool and the appel "chausson" made with fresh apples, not with jam like in common bakery. And, of course the bread which is delicious....Yummy !!
